Day six

33. Lining everthing up on centerline.
34. Insert the truss rod, flush with notch.
35. Glue on the top.
36. Clamp down the top.
37. Mark the positions for the back braces.
38. Clamp the curved braces on the back.
39. Shape the end of the fret-board.
40. Take off the clamps. It's starting to look like a bouzouki.


Harmon's Notes:
One more jig here. I made this to hold the entire instrument aligned and flat. We made good use of it in the following days! It has a centerline, and makes lining everything up a breeze. The clamps look menacing, But they are not squeezing hard, gentle even pressure is all you need.

We used ebony guitar fretboards, radiused and cut by Jim Olson many years ago. If you upgrade, make sure the scale is the same or compatible. A 25.5" scale plus or minus an eighth or so will work OK. You will have to adjust the position of the bridge accordingly to keep the higher frets in tune.
